A Summer of Legendary Openings: Spencer Joins Dylan on Stage
A Chance Encounter Leads to a Dream Opportunity
In the summer of 2024, country music artist Brittney Spencer found herself performing alongside music icons such as Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp during the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, an experience she considered monumental. Unexpectedly, after one of her sets, none other than Bob Dylan himself visited her dressing room. To her astonishment, Dylan lauded her songs with such detail that she was deeply moved. He even requested her contact information, which she provided on a napkin. Though he didn't call immediately, Spencer playfully suggests that this touring invitation is his way of reaching out now, and she's ready to answer.
Expanding Tour Horizon: Dylan's East Coast Additions
Spencer's upcoming performances with Dylan are scheduled for mid-July, encompassing shows in key East Coast cities including Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, and Gilford, New Hampshire. These dates are recent additions to Dylan's already extensive U.S. summer tour itinerary, which is slated to commence on June 4 in Troutdale, Oregon, and conclude on July 25 in Vienna, Virginia. For fans eager to catch Dylan sooner, he will be visiting various Southern markets throughout April, with stops in Macon, Georgia; Dothan, Alabama; and Tyler, Texas.
Dylan's Current Live Repertoire and Spencer's Flourishing Career
Dylan's current concert lineup prominently features six tracks from his 2020 album, Rough and Rowdy Ways. Audiences can also anticipate timeless classics such as “Love Sick,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “All Along the Watchtower,” “Man in the Long Black Coat,” and “Every Grain of Sand.” Meanwhile, Brittney Spencer continues to build on her burgeoning career. She is also scheduled to perform with Maren Morris and the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado, on July 19. Her acclaimed debut album, My Stupid Life, was released in 2024, and she has previously toured with Jason Isbell and graced the stages of both the CMA and ACM Awards.
